Dialup Can I access my BackPack account from other areas of the country? Yes! We have local dialup numbers in over 600 US Cities. If we don't have a number for your particular city, we can provide you an 800 number at a rate of $.10/minute prepaid. DSL Can't I use my machine as a webserver if I have DSL? No. All of our DSL subscribers are given "offnet" IP addresses. This means that no one can directly connect to your machine unless they are inside our private network. This prevents you from using your machine as a server but it protects you from people being able to hack directly into your machine. Dialup Why cant I stay connected to your server all the time? Our server will automatically disconnect you if your session has been idle for more than 15 minutes. As long as data is being passed through your connection to us, you will remain online. If you are looking for a connection that is on 24 hours a day, you should think about DSL.
